Folding Space joins the Privacy Stack®!

Leading data discovery provider brings powerful GDPR discovery to the Privacy Stack

Folding Space and Keepabl’s partnership adds leading GDPR Discovery solution to the Privacy Stack®

Partnership helps customers comply with GDPR by knowing where their personal data is, and providing an easy way to respond to data subject requests, with more benefits to come

London – 18 September 2019 – Folding Space, the leading provider of data discovery services used by demanding public and private sector customers, has joined the Privacy Stack, the alliance created by privacy provider Keepabl® to clarify the services customers and their advisers need to meet their ongoing GDPR compliance requirements.

Data subject rights (or ‘DSRs’) have been greatly strengthened and extended by the EU General Data Protection Regulation (or ‘GDPR’), and this will remain the case for British businesses post-Brexit.  Many organisations, public and private, have seen an increase in the number of DSRs they’ve received since GDPR came into force in 2018.  Core DSRs include the right to know what is processed about you, obtain a copy of that data, ask for it to be corrected or erased, and for it to be ported to another provider.  Non-compliance with DSR obligations can lead to GDPR’s maximum fine of €20m or 4% of global turnover, whichever is higher.

Organisations that have received DSRs know how time-consuming and expensive they can be.  Folding Space’s GDPR Discovery solution makes it quick and easy for organisations to locate, redact and package personal data so that they can confidently respond to DSRs in the required timeframes.

‘Working closely with Keepabl for some months now, we’ve been impressed by their product and their vision of making compliance easy and helping customers get the GDPR job done.  This very much matches our own approach to helping our customers easily and quickly locate the data they need amongst structured – and unstructured – data, which is clearly so critical for GDPR compliance,’ says Geoffrey Smith, Managing Director of Folding Space.  ‘We’re excited to join the Privacy Stack and help customers understand better what tools they need, and that are available, to help them in their compliance journey.’

Robert Baugh, CEO of Keepabl adds, ‘I’m delighted to welcome our good friends Folding Space into the Privacy Stack.  Their GDPR Discovery solution is a perfect complement to our Privacy-as-a-Solution service.  Folding Space have created that hardest of things: a deep-tech service that is simple to use.  It carries out all the hard work for you behind the scenes, you don’t need a PhD to use it, and their market-leading auto-redaction capabilities tackle one of the hardest aspects of DSRs.’

Robert continues, ‘As someone who spent 13 years as General Counsel in tech companies, anything to make responding to data subject requests easier is very welcome, and Folding Space takes it even further with auto-redaction.  Making sure you don’t inadvertently disclose another person’s data (or your confidential information for that matter) when responding to a DSR is very difficult unless you have a tool like Folding Space.’
